SUMMARY:
The Shared Services Accountant is responsible for recording Shared Services transactions through financial reporting using multiple ERP systems.  This position liaises with U.S. divisional Finance groups on accounting issues, performs accounting tasks, and assists with the monthly close.  This role reports to the Team Leader, Shared Services Accounting.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Assist AR, AP, and Payroll team leadership with journal entry recording of transactions
·         Perform account reconciliations, reporting, and associated journal entries
·         Track, reconcile and report monthly intercompany positions
·         Identify risks and potential accounting issues in Shared Services
·         Be an owner of key controls of Shared Services’ accounting process
·         Coordinate with divisional Finance leaders to ensure monthly close is accurate, timely, and complete
·         Under the direction of the Treasury Operations Manager, develops tools, analytics and processes for the automation of Shared
           Services accounting tasks
·         Work on specialized projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
·         Minimum of two (2) years experience in accounting
·         High degree of proficiency in Excel required
 
Desired:
·         Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
·         Experience with ERP systems (SAP, MFG Pro, QAD EE)
·         Ability to work well within a fast-paced team environment
·         Accounting experience in manufacturing
·         Experience with fixed assets, cost accounting, capital expense management
 
Skills/Competencies:
·         Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures including GAAP, FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
·         Self-motivating, problem-solver, capable of managing multiple projects
·         Excellent data mining and analysis skills; ability to collect, interpret and analyze data and present logical conclusions
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
