SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, targeting and aggressively pursuing potential large end-user accounts.  The Business Development Manager is charged with identification, development and implementation of business and technical strategies including the analysis and prioritization of target businesses and/or business segments to supplement/complement existing sales initiatives.  Recommends new or modified business strategies, new technologies, end markets, products and programs to assure a competitive market position is maintained.  Develops a viable business relationship and ensure that NN’s solutions provide quality goods and services which will meet the customer's changing needs.  Identifying and developing strategic business relationships with current and other potential customers, working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer.  The Business Development Manager will take the lead in the development of new business opportunities that supports NN’s overall growth strategy and help drive R&D efforts for customer facing technologies.  The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly or through subordinate managers and staff, this role is responsible for the following:
 
·         Works closely with global sales force to develop new business opportunities and other potential customers at all stages of the sales cycle to include targeting, prospecting and presenting compelling business propositions
·         Works effectively with C-Level decision markers, i.e., CCO, CFO, SVP/GMs/VPs and Director, to develop long-term strategic relationships
·         Develops and maintains new opportunities to support a robust deal pipeline toward targeted entities to continuously grow the business and generate sales
·         Works with internal technical teams across all groups to drive engineered solutions for customers
·         Studies key technical trends in strategic end markets to identify areas to drive our R&D efforts
·         Assesses end-markets, determines competitive position, and develops strategies to develop new products, opportunities and customers
·         Maintains consistent sales growth by continuously establishing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts
·         Develop and execute a strategic business plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals and supports Company revenue and profitability targets.
·         Attend conferences and professional association meetings and promote NN’s product solutions and brand
·         Prepares and presents powerful, persuasive sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of NN products solutions
·         Effectively manages large scale, complex contracts negotiations and close new business deals with GPOs and other potential customers, working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering; a Master of Science, Engineering Management and/or MBA preferred
·         Must have at least 10 years’ experience working in technical sales/business development in a management role
·         Knowledgeable on manufacturing process technologies across the entire company
·         Proven sales and negotiation skills
·         Knows how to align customer requirements into our project launch process
·         Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international NN locations and investor conferences, as needed
 
Desired:
·         International experience working in areas involving high precision, engineered components
·         Experience in strategic acquisitions and major project execution
·         History of driving above market growth in a highly competitive market environment
 
Skills/Competencies:
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external constituencies, including shareholders and the investment community at large
·         Demonstrated ability to prepare and present business reviews and presentations to the senior management team
·         Strong managerial, planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, analytical, and lateral thinking skills
·         Must possess knowledge of business structures, direction and strategy, life cycle processes and development practices
·         Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
·         Ability to appropriately handle confidential material
