The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring the Company achieves its financial objectives through accurate and timely receipt, analysis and validation of financial results.  This position liaises and coordinates with the Finance group on accounting issues, performs accounting tasks, and assists with both SEC reporting and Operational accounting needs.  The position will include researching, implementation and coordination of SEC reporting, along with aspects of assisting with the closing and budgeting process for the segments.  The Senior Staff Accountant reports to and works closely with the Finance team to ensure that strategic and financial objectives of the organization are being met.  Some travel is required within this role.  The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller.
·         Serve as a resource to the reporting and operational groups within the finance group, working on projects as assigned
·         Prepares analytics and defines root cause for variances and recommends change action(s)
·         Prepares extensive financial analysis, trend analysis, vetting of submitted numbers at the plant level working closely with plant and business segment leadership to understand monthly results
·         Identifies risks and accounting issues within the numbers
·         Provides monthly reports to Finance Management Team on plant financial results, margin trends, accounting issues identified etc.
·         Be an owner of key controls in the monthly and quarterly close process
·         Serves as a key participant in consolidating and analyzing the Company’s annual business plan (budget)
·         Work with the Finance team to ensure financial close is complete, and participates in monthly financial review process
·         Under the direction of the Manager, SEC Reporting, develops tools, analytics and processes for a data driven financial planning process
·         Work on specialized projects as assigned

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
·         Minimum of two to three (2 - 3) years in public accounting, or DOE, three to four (3 – 4) years in industry accounting, plus relevant experience in financial reporting, operational accounting and financial planning/analysis
·         High degree of proficiency in Excel required
·         Some travel (both domestic and international) may be required
·         CPA, MBA or Masters’ of Accounting
·         Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment
·         Experience with cost accounting, product line profitability, and variance analysis
·         Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures including GAAP, FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
·         Experience with large-scale ERP’s and reporting tools (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, HFM/Essbase)
·         Excellent data mining and analysis skills; ability to collect, interpret and analyze data and present logical conclusions
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
