Senior Corporate Tax Accountant

The Corporate Tax Accountant will have primary responsibility for U.S. federal, state and local income tax compliance.  The Corporate Tax Accountant will prepare various corporate federal and state income tax returns, estimates, extensions and tax provisions for various entities.  He/she will also assist with tax research, tax audits, and indirect tax issues (i.e., sales and property taxes). The Corporate Tax Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Tax Director.
  • Prepare U.S. federal, state and local income and franchise tax returns, including preparation of supporting work papers and schedules
  • Prepare and file U.S. federal, state and local estimates and extensions
  • Review fixed assets and prepare necessary tax depreciation reports
  • Prepare responses to U.S. federal and state tax notices
  • Assist with U.S. federal, state, and local tax audits and examinations, including collection of data and review and negotiation of audit results
  • Monitor U.S. state income tax nexus
  • Perform limited research and draft technical memoranda
  • Maintain accuracy of tax calendar
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as they relate to corporate tax matters
  • Assist in the preparation of the global income tax provision and related schedules in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC filing requirements as they relate to accounting for income taxes
  • Collect and review quarterly ASC 740-10 (FIN 48) templates for global group
  • Assist with tax diligence on future acquisition scenarios
  • Assist with various other tax projects as needed
·         Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
·         Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in taxation with a large multi-state corporation or national public accounting 
          firm or combination of both
·         Strong skills in utilizing tax technology, especially corporate income tax preparation software
·         Strong tax research skills including writing, business analysis, and communication skills
·         Experience with corporate federal and state income tax preparation and corporate tax provisions
·         Some travel (both domestic and international) may be required
·         Master’s Degree in Accounting
·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
·         Ability to work independently or with a team
·         Ability to clearly present ideas and summarize complex issues, both in writing and verbally
·         Desire for continuous professional development through experience and continuing education
·         Desire for continuous improvement in Tax Department processes to achieve efficiencies and greater accuracy
·         Desire to build relationships with others within the organization to facilitate increased communication and opportunity for adding value
·         Experience using CORPTAX a plus
·         Proficient in standard Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
·         Certified Public Accountant
