NN, Inc., a diversified industrial company, manufactures and supplies high precision metal bearing components, industrial plastic and precision metal components to a variety of markets on a global basis.  Headquartered in Johnson City, Tennessee, NN has 42 manufacturing plants in North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, South America and China. 

The Global Supply Chain Project Manager is responsible for independently identifying and leading multiple complex supply chain projects that may span systems, global geographies, functions and groups.  Responsible for embracing and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the Global Supply Chain to effectively drive cost out, capture cost avoidance, leverage best practices, lead corporate commodities/project councils.  Other responsibilities include the preparation and analysis of procurement data within existing facilities, in addition to any future facilities acquired through mergers and acquisitions.  The GSC Project Manager will report directly to the Global Supply Chain Director.   
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  • Lead selected scopes of spend including, but not limited to, proposal/specification development, cost modeling, supplier selection, price negotiation and bid evaluation processes 
  • Construct and develop comprehensive cost models to effectively influence Total Cost of Ownership
  • Lead discrete projects related to operational strategy, planning and execution that will support the GSC to execute best in class supply chain model
  • Assist in implementing purchasing policies and procedures through purchasing system or key documentation
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders within GSC and across functions/groups to drive projects to successful completion in a timely fashion
  • Perform statistical analysis, utilize sound reasoning skills, drive stakeholder attachment through use of supply chain and purchasing principles
  • Prepare and analyze purchasing data to make recommendations that support the GSC strategies report key procurement metrics
  • Participate in projects relating to continuous improvement and Level 3 projects to improve the utilization of all manufacturing-related systems
 
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent directly-related experience
  • Minimum of five years’ supply chain analyst/project management experience with record of increased responsibility and proven results related to OTD to plans and cost out projects
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or Level 3 Masters Certified with demonstrated project result(s)
  • Experience with a global supply team preferred
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations – develop plans and obtain concurrence
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (with an emphasis in Excel/Access); experience with ADP, SAP, shop floor systems a plus
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 25%, domestically and internationally  
 
Desired:
  • Master’s in Business Administration, or similar advanced degree is a plus
  • Second language (Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Italian, Dutch, Slovak, French, Polish or Bosnian)
  • APICS Certification a plus
  • 3PL and Logistics modeling
 
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships with internal customers and suppliers; negotiate effectively; and present ideas and proposals in written and oral form 
  • General knowledge of available sources of pertinent business information, analytical skills to evaluate this information and communications skills to prepare / present presentations. Business information includes major suppliers, industry cost drivers, market indices and leading indicators
  • Understanding of business and supply chain terminology
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative skills
  • Proven record of results based performance
  • Detailed-oriented and able to multi-tasking strength
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Advanced Excel and Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with multiple systems (SAP, Business Warehouse, Access Database, Business Intelligence, Cognos, Oracle, etc.)
