SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for performing day-to-day accounts receivable activities and ensuring strict confidentiality of financial records.  Responsible for entering bank deposits by recording checks, wires, and credit card transactions while maximizing returns on accounts receivable while maintaining good customer relations.  Follows established procedures to accomplish transactions, and ensures all vendor accounts are current.  The Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Accounts Receivable Team Lead.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report
• Prepare reports on status of credit and collections
• Process, review, and analyze aging reports to help organize collections efforts
• Apply payment receipts to customer accounts; process checks and charge credit cards following company policy and controls
• Maintain records by entering invoices, debits and credits
• Post customer payments by recording checks, wire, and credit card transactions
• Meet all applicable deadlines for the monthly close
• Responsible for posting AR adjustments and write offs with proper approvals
• Identify gaps in controls as other locations are centralized
• Update and maintain spreadsheets as needed
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processing
• Provide backup coverage for other roles as requested
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Associate’s Degree or minimum of two years of equivalent Accounts Receivable experience
• Experience with collections in a manufacturing environment using SAP or similar ERP system
• Knowledge of credit and collection principles, processes, regulations, and standards
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Familiar with workflow and document imaging tools
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
 
Desired:
• Service Center related experience, a plus
