SUMMARY:
The Compensation Analyst participates in compensation plan design, job evaluations / hierarchy, salary administration, pay increases, and other compensation related activities to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, process efficiency, and compliance with current federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations and company policy.  This role will work closely with Staffing and hiring managers to ensure that compensation and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to the current compensation and rewards strategy and all applicable laws. The Compensation Analyst is an individual contributor position and will report to the Manager, Compensation and Benefits
.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Facilitate the consistent application and communication of the Company’s compensation philosophy and processes across assigned business units or groups
  • Compile market data, detailing competitive market trends and positioning to market for critical roles
  • Analyze jobs against internal banding and leveling guidelines to help determine appropriate and market competitive salary and incentive targets
  • Evaluate positions using established evaluation systems, determines job titles, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classification, appropriate salary grades and value of jobs using internal and external measures
  • Provide compensation support to HR within assigned population to support external offers, internal movement, and to address other specific needs
  • Support annual compensation planning processes for assigned population ensuring appropriate differentiation of rewards to performance, equity and market competitiveness
  • Provide support in the implementation of guidelines, practices and tools to facilitate effective compensation planning that differentiates rewards based on performance
  • Participate in market-based compensation surveys and analyze results and trends
  • Work with hiring managers and site HR in creating or rewriting job descriptions; create and maintain job description database
  • Oversee ongoing quarterly progress reviews and rate increases
  • May participate in due diligence during mergers and acquisitions
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business or related field
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in compensation and/or financial analysis
  • An understanding of principles and practices of human resource administration, including relevant laws and regulations 
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
 
 Desired:
  • Experience providing compensation consulting services such as job evaluation, external market pricing, policy interpretation, making recommendations on pay decisions to maintain internal equity, external competitiveness and to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience with year-end processes for salaried compensation and incentive plans
  • HRCI or WorldatWork certification
  • Experience with an ERP system a plus

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING:
Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) or similar certification; regular recertification will be required.
