SUMMARY:
The Business Intelligence Manager role is responsible for working with Sales, Operations, Marketing and Engineering to elevate NN’s collective market awareness, isolate key market issues/opportunities, and enable fact based strategic decisions across the business groups and for NN in general.   This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to business intelligence and benchmarking.  The Business Intelligence Manager reports directly to the Vice President, Marketing and Investor Relations.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the sales forecast system, processes and procedures, providing training as needed. Continually pursues knowledge regarding trends and best practices in demand forecasting as the internal subject matter expert. Collaborates with IT to manage and develop the internal online forecasting tool to best facilitate internal and external needs.
  • Presents forecasting accuracy analyses and insights to senior management to determine opportunities for process and accuracy improvement
  • Analyzes market trends and recommends changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback
  • Manages monthly reporting and distribution of monthly economic data (Industrial Production, GDP) as well as other custom market intelligence data.
  • Supports (leads where required) a variety of analytical and strategic market intelligence projects. This includes executive-level and other leadership deliverables including updates for business conditions, market analysis and other macro-economic assessments as needed.
  • Leads the development and distribution of market and economic intelligence reports.
  • Facilitates market research and provides key findings (conditions, trends, etc.) as it relates to internal and external market analysis including: financial analysis, market sizing, forecast, competitive landscape, economic landscape, and other market research methods.
  • Actively supports (lead where required) the department’s annual update of global market data and related annual situation assessment of global market conditions. This includes market analysis, assessments, and related data depictions.
  • Manages the annual update of the target end market sizes as part of the global market data process.  This includes source data collection, processing OEM segment data changes, and communicating the update with OEM management team.
  • Serves as the primary contact to provide market intelligence guidance for select businesses, industries, and geographies during the annual update and throughout the year.
  • Assists in managing relationships with research analysts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related discipline is required (Business, Finance, Economics, etc.)
  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in investment banking or analyst desk support.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to generate insights from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Ability to create and manage databases, produce data models and conduct other data analysis (financial, market, economic, forecasting, etc.).
  • Strategic mindset with ability to provide fact-based recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability. Strong collaborative skill set, able to effectively interact within and across functional disciplines (sales, marketing, finance, etc.) at all levels.
  • Self-starter mindset. Pro-active in identifying and implementing improvements in processes and/or reporting to better meet customer focused deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate key insights and findings using a variety of methods specific to customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project / report deadlines while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Bloomberg terminal proficiency coupled with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Microsoft PowerBI or other data visualization software is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to frequently flex across GBA activities which span multiple subject areas, and comfortable/credible serving as GBA’s representative in a variety of non-GBA sponsored projects and activities.
  • Technology: Microsoft Office required. Proficiency in Microsoft Access, SharePoint, PowerBI, or other business performance reporting applications a plus.  Must be able to evaluate new technologies and learn/leverage new technology capabilities to advance GBA deliverables.
