SUMMARY:
The Director, Shared Services is responsible for providing leadership and management of NN’s shared services function including overseeing the operation of the current shared services footprint, which is comprised of accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, payroll, accounting, travel and expense administration, and customer and supplier services.  This role is also responsible for elevating the shared services function, developing, building and driving the future-state shared services model.  He or she leads through influence and collaborates with partners across the Company to deliver a best-in-class customer experience in an efficient, cost-effective manner. This position reports to the SVP, CFO. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishes the overall shared services strategy including the evaluation of delivery models and potential future locations. Partners with CFO and senior financial management to expand shared services capabilities and centralized services. Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed service level agreements (SLAs) with groups and business units.
  • Initial focus will be on building out the shared service functionality and shared services team, including assessment and coaching of current shares service team members and developing and standardizing polices and processes.
  • Provides vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the design and development of cost-effective programs, products, and services while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to support current and future business needs.
  • Collaborates with NN corporate and group senior leadership to ensure direct partnership, consistent operations, and effective administration of NN Shared Services. Establishes a customer-focused environment to ensure NN’s Shared Services is growing with the needs of its business partners. Maintains awareness of customer and supplier plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future functionality.
  • Identifies innovative approaches to ensure satisfaction of stakeholders, identifying and utilizing key measures of success for the shared services function.  Ensures continuity and successful delivery against these metrics. 
  • Fosters the culture of continuous improvement of services, seeking proactive approaches to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the shared services supportive capabilities. Develops team members skills and identifies opportunities for and the design of common optimized processes across NN’s businesses.
  • Develops options to leverage outsourcing and process automation to drive effective service delivery, along with negotiating and monitoring outside service providers used in the delivery of shared services.
  • Develops annual and long-range budget for NN Shared Services.  Manages organization’s resources within budget guidelines and ensures proper staffing of Shared Services to meet requirements as outlined in SLAs.
  • Must be willing to travel 25-40%.
 
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related business field
  • Direct experience in the development, start-up and/or building a shared services department
  • Minimum of 10 years’ management in a public or private organization leading shared services activities, comprised of both insourced and outsourced work activities that service a large customer base
  • Proactive decision-maker with solid financial and analytical skills, able to partner effectively across the organization to meet established strategy and goals, including developing and executing strategic plans, building customer relations, and applying innovative solutions to business issues
  • Demonstrated skill in designing and implementing business tools and strategies for complex administrative and technical services (including but not limited to procurement, financial management, human resources, information technology) in a customer focused service organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, across all levels
  • Strong ERP and MS Office skills
