The Senior Income Tax Accountant is a key member of the tax team and will liaison with the finance team on a regular basis.  This position is primarily responsible for preparation of the income tax provision and assisting with the preparation of the federal and state income tax returns. He/she will assist with other income tax responsibilities as directed by the Tax Manager.
This position will enable the Tax Department to effectively respond to the growing number of tax compliance responsibilities commensurate with recent U.S. tax reform, acquisitions and process improvements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with documentation and support of FIN 48 positions.
• Maintain tax fixed asset records in BNA Fixed Assets.
• Reconcile income tax accounts quarterly.
• Ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Conduct tax research and prepare memos, as needed
• Keep informed of current tax developments
• Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated taxes and annual extension calculations.
• Assist with preparation of federal and state income tax returns, as needed.
• Manage income tax registrations for all US legal entities including review of compliance where established nexus exists.
• Assist with support, documentation and responses for federal and state income tax notices.
• Assist with integration of newly acquired businesses into tax processes, as required.
• Develop and mentor staff/interns, as needed.
• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting
• CPA designation
• Four (4) + years of appropriate income tax experience – public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience (Big 4 experience preferred)
• Big 4 experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting for income taxes and US federal income tax compliance; (International tax experience a major plus);
• Previous experience with tax provision and return software (Corptax highly preferred);
• Excellent communication skills
