The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for ensuring the Company achieves its financial objectives through accurate and timely receipt and validation of financial results through financial reporting.  This position liaises and coordinates with division finance teams on accounting issues, performs accounting tasks, and assists with SEC reporting.  The position will include researching technical accounting matters, assisting with implementation of new accounting standards, performing consolidations of financial statements, participating in the implementation of new accounting software, and coordination of SEC reporting.  The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant works closely with the division finance teams to ensure that strategic and financial objectives of the organization are being met.  Some travel may be required within this role.  The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant reports to the Manager, SEC Reporting.
  • Coordinate and solicit financial data from the segments in an effort to consolidate financial results at the NN, Inc. parent level
  • Assist the Manager, SEC Reporting with research and preparation of position papers related to technical accounting matters, including new accounting pronouncements
  • Identify risks and accounting issues within financial reports
  • Perform monthly corporate consolidations
  • Serve as an owner of key controls in the monthly and quarterly close process
  • Work with the division finance teams to ensure financial close is complete, and participate in monthly financial review process
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting software as needed
  • Work on specialized projects as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of five (5) years in accounting
  • High degree of proficiency in Excel required
  • Some travel may be required
  • CPA, MBA or Masters’ of Accounting
  • Public accounting experience
  • Financial reporting experience
  • Extensive experience in U.S. GAAP technical research
  • Experience with variance analysis
  • Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures including GAAP, FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Experience with large-scale ERP’s and reporting tools (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, HFM/Essbase
  • Excellent data mining and analysis skills; ability to collect, interpret and analyze data and present logical conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
