SUMMARY:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for providing technology leadership and management of technology systems and services, directing the Company’s strategic technology direction, development, and future growth.  Participates as a member of the senior management team in strategic and operational planning and provides technological guidance.   The Chief Information Officer reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve organizational goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of the current and future systems across the organization.
  • Develops long-term plans and sets the tactical direction for the technology needs of the Company.
  • Oversees technology-related programs and change management initiatives.
  • Develops and leads long-term strategy to transition to a single ERP environment, including initiatives to optimize interim access to transactional financial, sales and operational data.
  • Researches trends and issues in the industry, including innovative technologies and associated costs, and advises senior management of any competitive impacts and risks.
  • Works with executive management and operations to improve efficiency and productivity through development and introduction of business processes, applications and systems.
  • Creates, tracks and controls the IT annual operating budget and capital budgets for the organization, including preparation and presentation of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. 
  • Directs development and execution of enterprise-wide disaster recovery/business continuity plan.
  • Promotes and oversees strategic relationships between internal IT and other functional groups.
  • Benchmarks, analyzes, and recommends improvements to the IT infrastructure.
  • Responsible for cybersecurity for the company.
  • Administers the IT-related elements of all yearly audits, both internal and external, and works with Internal Audit to ensure effective compliance testing; also ensures compliance with relevant HIPAA and SOX regulations.
  • Leads the IT functional aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and integrations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the corporate IT team, and the indirect supervision of IT employees globally.  The CIO is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising, performance; rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related business field
  • Minimum of fifteen years’ of increasingly responsible management and operational experience in Information Technology with a broad range of experience in various technology areas
  • Experience in effectively managing teams at an executive level
  • Must possess extensive experience in strategic planning and execution 
  • Must possess experience operating IT in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Must be team oriented and have excellent collaboration skills
  • Must be able and willing to travel to NN sites as necessary
  • Experience with IT aspects of mergers and acquisitions and integration
 
Desired:
  • Master’s in Business Administration, or similar advanced degree
