Corporate Recruiter/HR Generalist

SUMMARY:
The Corporate Recruiter/HR Generalist (“Generalist”) is responsible for recruiting, identifying and onboarding qualified and diverse talent for roles at all levels, as well as managing the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs for the corporate entity. The Generalist leads and coordinates Human Resources practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing safety, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and development of a superior workforce.  The Generalist acts as a liaison and consultant to internal customer groups to support business goals, organizational development, employee relations, staffing, safety and workers’ compensation, employee/career development, succession planning, and performance management.   The Generalist reports directly to the SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Source, interview and onboard qualified talent for corporate office roles at all levels, as well as other key placements within the Company; maintain applicant tracking and hiring metrics; identify and implement best practices and ensure legal and policy compliance
  • Research, update, implement and oversee HR programs (including safety, performance management, organizational development, organizational capability, talent and succession planning, wellness, onboarding/offboarding, and goal alignment processes)
  • Partner with managers to determine requirements for roles, qualities of ideal candidates; draft job descriptions and structured interviews with input from managers/functional leaders
  • Identify and achieve diversity and inclusion targets; manage co-op internship program for site
  • Create network of talent from social media and other networking opportunities
  • Manage overall recruitment spend through judicious utilization of recruiting partners, social media and other recruiting methods   
  • Manage and coordinate HR programs and projects of varying scale, scope and level; may include due diligence and acquisition integration activities
  • Administer workers’ compensation and leave programs
  • Maintain HRIS system records, as well as headcount and safety data
  • Identify and administer core training; coordinate annual employee programs and policy reviews
  • Ensure that changes in external business conditions are reflected and integrated into staffing, rewards, communications, and development
  • Partner with other members of the HR function in other customer areas on issues which have impact on the broader organization to ensure consistency of message and service delivery
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Minimum of five years in a Human Resources Generalist role, focused on recruitment at all levels (entry-level to senior leadership positions)
  • Knowledge of various functions (operations, finance/accounting, sales, engineering, IT, etc.) and the specific challenges of filling roles in each
  • Thorough understanding of principles and practices of human resource administration, including relevant laws and regulations
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international NN locations, as needed
 
Desired:
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR designation (or similar certification)
  • International HR experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization, exercising professionalism, tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize complex issues
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential material
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
 
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) or similar certification (and regular recertification) required.
